Sephora Collection Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53, Sephora Collection R61 Lucky One Rouge Cream Lipstick Review & Swatches
Sephora Collection Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53, Sephora Collection R61 Lucky One Rouge Cream Lipstick Review & Swatches

Whilst on holiday in Barcelona, I visited the Sephora store in Rambla de Catalunya. It was massive, larger than the stores I've been to in San Diego. I was on a lil budget during my 5 day trip so I walked away with just these two goodies.

Sephora Collection Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53. Having had good experiences from using the Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57, I picked up this small fan brush and had a lil play. It had such soft bristles with a short yet ergonomic handle and I had to have it. I envision this would work with contour powder for the hollows of the cheeks or to apply highlight.

Sephora Collection R61 Lucky One Rouge Cream Lipstick. I realised I havent tried Sephora lipsticks before and decided to purchase this shade. This was a bold move as I hadn't swatched it before purchasing. It is a medium red-toned pink with a creamy finish. It is a shade darker than MAC Fanfare Lipstick and has more pink than MAC Whirl Lipstick. It leaves a bit of a stain which is always welcomed in my choice of lippie.

I surveyed what brands the Sephora shop had. They hosted MUFE and Kat Von D, along with the UK-available brands Benefit, NARS, Urban Decay and Too Faced. I was looking for Anastasia Beverley Hills and Tarte though which were unfortunately not there. How I wish Sephora was still in the UK though. Have you visited the Sephora shops in Barcelona?

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour Review
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour Review

I have suffered from eczema all my life. It was mainly in the creases of my elbows (flexural) then badly affected my hands, got better during my university life and since starting working again it affecting my hands and around my eyes (periorbital).

Cutting out certain allergens, for example biological washing powder, has helped but certain things e.g. work related stress can be hard to avoid. The eczema around my eyes has been the most difficult to deal with as it affects confidence as well as prevents makeup use to allow the skin to heal.

I have found as a result, the skin around my eyes have started to darken and I have been seeking products which help combat these.

La Roche-Posay have a product for just this. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour* is marketed for 'sensitive eye contour'. This product seems to plug the gap between youthful skin and anti-aging (I hope I still fit into the pre-anti-aging product category!). It quotes 'anti-discomfort and anti-puffiness care' along with their Dermatological expert advise suggesting that dryness for contact lens wear, computer screen usage and other external aggressor can lead to.

I decided to trial this product for a full week along with their morning and evening regimen guidance to put this product to the full test. They recommend putting a small amount of product on your ring finger and dabbing from the inner corner of your eye around the contour and eyelid, then apply pressure underneath your eye and then on a closed eyelid.

In the short term, the product is great. I can visibly notice smoother skin around my eye contour and my eyes feel refreshed.

After a whole week the skin around my eyes are definitely smoother and tighter. I am in love with this product! I have not noticed whether my dark circles have improved but it may be a little early for that!

LUSH Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Treatment Review
LUSH Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Treatment Review

LUSH Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Treatment is meant to tame frizz and to rejuvenate dryness. This smooth and light moisturizer is applied pre-shower, left on for 20 minutes or so, and washed off with shampoo and/or conditioner.

The first thing I noticed about this product was it's strong scent (which holds true for all Lush products I have come by). But it was not the usual hair product scent. It was a calming and relaxing aroma of jasmine oil. The scent lasted for days, which is impressive since I wash my hair everyday. It even sticks to your fingers when you give your hair a little comb. I was very generous with the application because the formula was thin and it would not be able to cover all of my hair if I only applied a couple of two-finger swipes. The LUSH site says to use 50-100% of the whole pot for longer hair lengths - one pot per usage.

In the end...
Pros: I observed that my hair looked healthier after one treatment. My tips did not look as dry as they were previously. It also brought out the color of my hair - gave it a more vibrant hue.

Cons: The product did not give me the soft-and-moisturized-hair feeling I was looking forward to. Thus, I felt a little disappointed.  I did not really notice a difference when it came to shine. It may take another session for my hair to be fully rejuvenated.

I have always loved Lush's handmade products, yet LUSH Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Treatment did not really stand out to me. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of other cheaper alternatives. I rate this product 3/5.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

Beauty blenders are one of the most talked about new makeup tools on the market currently. After all the hype, I decided to try it out for myself.

Looking online there are a lot of choices for beauty blenders and similar sponge type products.

The original patented BeautyBlender will set you back roughly £12-18 depending on retailer. I decided on a cheaper alternative - the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge at a bargain price of £4.99 from Amazon.

I have always been a fan of Real Techniques loving their makeup tool which have been tried and tested by MUAs and the reviews were short of excellent.

This orange sponge has been ergonomically designed for maximal base coat blending and sculpting. A flat edge to contour around the eyes & nose, the side to blend large areas of face and the tip to cover imperfections.

Having used a foundation brush or fingers to apply foundation in the past I was amazed at how light and even the coverage was. (I am a huge fan of the no makeup look)

Top Tip: wet the sponge for a maximal light and airbrush cover effect!

I was instantly in love with this product and the price.

However, after a single use I noticed that the sponge had already chipped. I am not fan of the quality of this product. The product states to replace every 1-3 months but surely it should withstand more than one use.

Therefore overall I would rate this product 3/5. Great effect but poor quality.

Avon Ideal Flawless CC Concealer Stick Softening Yellow Review, Swatches

Avon recently launched the Avon Ideal Flawless CC Concealer Stick* in three shades for spot correction over targeted areas. This is meant to be applied prior to foundation. It is a creamy pencil that provides medium to full coverage. It comes in a variety of shades. I have it in the shade Softening Yellow.

Softening Yellow is a pale cream colour that would be an excellent concealer for anyone perhaps NC15 and above. On my tanned NC30 skin, it comes almost like a stark white to brighten dark dull areas of the face.

Due to its pale shade, I've found use for it on the waterline (caution for contact lens wearers), to emphasize brows under the brow bone and blended in the inner corners of the eyes for a highlight. Although this shade is meant to target dark under eye circles, I find that it doesn't blend well enough to be used for this purpose (it tugs quite a bit). I have not found much luck blending this above the cupid's bow either.

Overall, I find the Avon Ideal Flawless CC Concealer Stick* is great for spot correction with targeted areas. It wouldn't be suitable for larger areas though, to be used for that purpose  I would have preferred if it had a more blendable consistency.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Unifiant Review, Swatches
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Unifiant Review, Swatches

La Roche-Posay have released their latest member to the Effaclar range and I am loving it! This product branches into the makeup range giving light tinted coverage but still maintains its its anti-acne brilliance.

The effaclar range help to combat inflammation, reducing redness and the size of blemishes with active ingredients such as niacinamide, piroctone olamine, LHA, linoleic acid and procerad.

Effaclar works on your skin over time and within 4 weeks their research has shown it unclogs pores, reduces redness and imperfection, creating a refined and more even skin tone.

This wonderful new product, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant*, comes in two shades - light and medium to provide all over light coverage. They are marketed as universal and I have to admit - i didn't expect the medium shade to suit my skin tone however it worked fabulously. For those that know me, I never wear any foundation or base however I will be using in the future more as it is so lightweight it definitely gives a no-makeup look. It's easy to apply - with finger or beauty blender.

A little goes a long way with this product and it smells great too. Overall I think this is a great product and can't wait to see more from La Roche-Posay in the makeup line!

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks Liv It Up, Electric Poppy Review Swatches
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks Liv It Up, Electric Poppy Review Swatches
Last Friday, I searched high and low for the new Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks. While limited testers were available to swatch at Selfridges, a kind MUA whispered and said the lipsticks were available to purchase from Fenwicks in New Bond Street and the flagship store in Covent Garden. Only 10 minutes walk from Selfridges, I landed in Fenwicks and I was greeted with the most friendly most helpful staff I have met in any high end beauty department.

A gorgeous tall blonde MUA came to my assistance as I swatched away at the individual lipsticks and instead of just purchasing 1 lipstick as I had planned, I left with two!

Now this was a pre-planned purchase. Finally a lipstick with my name on it that isn't too pale (Illamasqua!) nor too dark (NARS). Liv It Up is a nude pink with a creamy finish and a gentle pearl. It brightens up my NC30 complexion. Its the perfect colour for every day wear.

Now this I didn't expect to pick up. It is a bright coral red that brings out the natural pink ness of my cheeks. It is creamy modern matte and does have a bit of slip. I like dabbing on the lips and spreading with my finger to create a natural stain like finish. The colour is perfect for the summer and hence I ran with it!

Ccan I just talk about the edged tip of the lipstick bullet? It makes it so easy to define the lip line without requiring a pencil. Genius! However this edge does erode with use unfortunately. But its still a brilliant idea.

Nails Inc Seven Dials nail polish Review Swatches
Nails Inc Seven Dials Review Swatches

Yellow is definitely my new current colour obsession but gel effect by Nails Inc has definitely surpassed my expectations.

The shade, Seven Dials, was exactly what I was seeking and never fails to get a compliment. It has a richness to it that other companies cannot rival.

What I most love about this product is its longevity. It is rare to find a nail polish that remains chip free but I can safely say  it still looks near fresh at the end of a very busy week.

Just two coats of this wonderful product is all you need for a salon quality manicure without any UV hassle (not to mention it's easy to remove). It's slightly pricier than some nail polishes (£15), but for the quality I think it's definitely worth it and cheaper than a salon manicure.

Nails Inc have transformed their product design which now include custom lids which make them a great gift idea.

Personally I cannot wait to try more shades.

Happy manicures everyone x
