NARS Torrid Blush, NARS Natalie Lipstick Review Swatches
NARS Torrid Blush, NARS Natalie Lipstick
There's nothing like a peachy pair from NARS that screams spring. The onset of the warmer months, temperature rising, clocks moved one hour into the future and the loss of an hour's worth of sleep...

And as if I didn't have enough peachy blushes and lipsticks already, I fell inlove with these two at first sight, and away flew my credit card to the till at the airport.

NARS Torrid Blush is a bright coral pink with a teensie bit of shimmer. It's very pigmented and only takes a couple of light handed swipes to show up on cheeks. Its very flattering on olive skintones; it mimics that flush you get in torrid temperatures... Warm NCs I would so urge you to try this.

NARS Natalie Lipstick is something that's been on my wishlist for sometime. Its a creamy matte coral that fits NARS Torrid perfectly. Like a match made in heaven. Somehow this lipstick always reminds me of the stunning Natalie Dormer's famous duckface smirk. Love it. See swatches below:

London Lash Studio LVL Lash Treatment Review
London Lash Studio LVL Lash Treatment Review

Having naturally straight Oriental lashes, I've always been envious of my Indian and Afrocaribbean friends. Every now and then I catch myself staring at their mascara-less eyes, wishing I had that natural curl myself.

And then, thanks to the blogosphere, I discovered the lash lift. Quickly typing away 'lash lift' at Treatwell.co.uk, I searched for a reasonably well-reviewed lash expert and stumbled upon Jade from London Lash Studio and signed up for a treatment.

The procedure took about 50 minutes. The therapist meticulously treats your lashes while you relax lying semi-flat with closed eyes. I opted for a blanket for comfiness. There were short-lived ie half-to-one minute episodes of stinging, but the procedure itself was relatively painless.

I chose to get 'the biggest curl possible', that is my eyelashes are curled closest to the roots. As my eyelashes were noted to be quite long, she suggested going for 'the medium curl' but I persisted for the super one. Fifty minutes later I opened my eyes to the most fluttery lashes I've ever seen, and I felt so happy they were mine!

The curl is said to last between 6-8 weeks. Good aftercare is important to ensure they last longer. There is a patch test at least 24 hours before the actual treatment which I recommend you attend to ensure your skin doesn't create an allergic reaction to the reagents used.

As for my therapist herself, I highly recommend Jade. She was brilliant, straight-forward, fuss-free, and meticulous. Just the way I like people handling my eye area. And no, this post was not sponsored.

With my pre-curled lashes, my morning routine is so much quicker, with more time for a snooze and a healthy smoothie. Shisheido lash curler - see you in a couple of months!

Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care Review
Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care Review
"Anti-blemish while Hydrating" sounds like an oxymoron; most anti-blemish products contain acids which dry up the skin's surface and in doing so, prevent the production of sebum and also fight skin-colonising bacteria, two hits in one ingredient. When I heard of Vichy Normaderm Anti-Blemish Hydrating Care Moisturiser sporting both claims, I knew I had to try it out.

This moisturiser contains LHA, Vichy Thermal Spa Water, Salicylic Acid and Glycolic acid. LHA or β-lipohydroxy acid stimulates the skin in a manner similar but with a weaker effect than retinoids, to renew epidermal cells and the extracellular matrix. Vichy Thermal spa water acts to hydrate the skin, while the latter two ingredients are acids to combat acne.

As a person with combination skin (dry cheeks and oily T-zone), I appreciate applying this product especially on my oily nose. I would avoid applying on the cheeks as it could still cause dryness and flaking. During periods of hormonal stress, I would use it more often to prevent breakouts.

I believe Vichy Normaderm Anti-Blemish Hydrating Care Moisturiser would work well on people with oily skin types. Despite its 'hydrating care' qualities, I would suggest those with dry skin types look further to Vichy's Aqualia Thermal line-up for more hydrating products.
