The Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette is an affordable drugstore palette with a range of shades making it suitable for most skin tones. Darker skin girls (see swatches below) may not find the contour shades deep enough. As my face is a bit lighter than the rest of my body - I was able to get away with it and I found that I really loved the contour shades as they added a nice warmth to my face as a soft contour as the shades were similar to my skin tone. I would have preferred a deeper shade to give an option to have a stronger more defined contour look.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Review Swatches |
Swatches on Livia's (top) and my (below) arms to show they show up on different skin tones. From left to right on swtached arms - the bottom row starting with the highlighter has been swatched first (and moving across left) and then moving onto the top row with the glittery baked white/gold highlighter and moving onto the highlight tones.

The products are very easy to blend and I think this is a great starter kit enabling you to play around with the different shades to see what works best for you. The baked highlighters are gorgeous but I have to say the white/gold one is far too glittery for my personal taste however the pink one gives a good subtle shimmer.
Of the powders, I find the white and pale pink have been untouched but the banana shade is a good everyday under eye setting powder. I personally do not think I would repurchase this as the shades are a little out of my skin tone comfort however I do think it is a great product to get started with and more suitable for slightly paler skin tones. At such a good price it is definitely worth a try!
Completely agree with this review, I find I don't tough the lighter shades at all, might have a gander at the banana powder as I dismissed that initially as well. Great review and swatches! I really love the NYX contour palette and think MUR have done a dupe of that, might be worth checking out as it is £10 less xxx

Thanks! I will check those out!
DeleteI have this palette too! I think the top highlight shade is my most used, then the lightest contour shade. I don't think I'd buy it again either, but I'm really glad I tried it! Lovely post :) xxx

Thanks! Yes I think it was definitely worth a try and good for travelling!
DeleteI would probably only use the highlighters and just one of the contour powders...maybe use the rest as eyeshadows just so it's not wasted. The price tag is great though for the amount your getting :)!
