MAC 133 Brush Review
It takes a lot for me to purchase a new MAC brush these days, with all the cheaper more affordable and high quality brushes out there, the comparatively extortionate prices of MAC brushes make you easily think twice. I visited the MAC store intending to pick up a lipstick from the MAC Faerie Whispers Collection but after swatching the highlighters and then swiping the brushes on my hand, I picked up the MAC 133 Brush.

Sigma F15 Duo Fibre Brush, MAC 133 Brush, Real Techniques MultiTask Brush Review
I was very pleasantly surprised by this dinky little thing. The MAC 133 Brush is a super soft mini brush made of the white natural fibres. It is a lot smaller than my current go-to highlighter brush, the Sigma F15 Brush, a duo-fibre brush that applies a delicate amount of shimmer to the cheekbones. It is dome-shaped, a smaller version of the Real Techniques Multi-task Brush, which is my favourite for blush application. The MAC 133 Brush can be used for applying a sheer wash of colour on the eyes, but I find it is quite perfect for precise application of highlighter on the cheekbones. It hasn't shed so far with a few days of use and not at all scratchy on the skin.

I'm quite pleased with my purchase although £28 for a brush is a little steep. Care to share - What is your favourite highlighter brush?

MAC 133 Brush Review

There's nothing like a good makeup haul for a 'pick me up'. This week has been quite a busy challenging tiring week that I'm glad to have a breather this weekend. Super excited about my new finds from online shopping. Here's what I got:

Maybelline Brow Pomade Deep Dark, By Terry Carnal Attraction Lipstick, Charlotte Tilbury Amber Haze Colour Chameleon, Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub, L'oreal Telescopic Mascara

L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara Extra Black
I'm no stranger to L'oreal mascaras. For one I am a huge fan of the LOréal Paris Double Extension Renewal Serum Inside Mascara. However I've just come to realise I havent tried L'oreal Telescopic at all so I picked this up. I was utterly surprised by the teenie tiny brush and even more so when it instantly thickens and lengthens the lashes. I recommend this for small Asian lashes as the wand enables precision.

Picked this up to flatter my dark brown eyes and I must say it does deliver. It is a golden bronze shade, a bit like MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow but in longwearing stick form. You can apply it all over the lid like for an eyeshadow look but I prefer simply lining my upper lash line. This is the third addition to my CT Colour Chameleon stash. I wonder which will be the fourth?

This is my first lipstick from By Terry (they are so expensive that they hurt my purse). I picked this one up in the recent Space NK sale and I hope you do to. This gorgeous shade is a pink berry, similar to MAC Rebel Lipstick. The formula is a lot more luxurious however. It glides on easily on the lips and stays. You could wear it two ways - with a matching lip pencil, or alone smudged out with a finger to create a stained berry lip. I often do the latter. Love it!

Maybelline Eyestudio Brow Drama Pomade Crayon
It's incredibly difficult to find a good eyebrow pencil for dark eyebrows. Many lean too warm and make the brows a touch gingery. The ideal shade for dark brown eyebrows would be one that leans grey - and I must say I'm content with the shade 'Deep Brown' I have here by Maybelline, although it could be even more grey. I love the chubby pencil and how its easy to use. Its a little pigmented so small feathery strokes go a long way.

Flaky lips call for a lil scrubbing and I've turned to no other but Lush's offering. I was tossing between Popcorn and Mint Chocolate but the former won due to both jojoba oil and coconut oil for extra moisturisation. Apply lip balm straight after use for a juicy pout.

Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01

I love pretty highlighters especially when applied high up on the cheekbones. I remember getting mesmerised at Don Leone's Italian watching this pretty doll's cheekbones glistening in the light as she moved and laughed, now that I think about it I hope she didn't catch me taking frequent glances... but then again she might have had too much of that delicious red wine to notice. In my searches for highlighters to produce that gorgeous glow, I stumbled upon this pretty gem that I'll review for you today. It's Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01.

Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01

Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 is a white gold luminous highlighter that's not as metallic the current cult favourites eg. the Anastasia highlighters. It is quite subtle and works well in office / work type environments. Apply with a small brush or with the fingertips high up on the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and beneath the eyebrow arch. See swatch below:

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Highlight 01 Review!

My Attempt at Kylie Jenner Lips

Thanks to the popularity led by older half-sisters the Kardashians, the next generation of fashion inspirations - the Jenner sisters have taken the beauty world by storm. Kylie Jenner in particular, the younger of the two, is known for instagramming a full pout which is now revealed thanks to the help of a few mls of fillers. We shouldn't discount her makeup skills however, as a sister contour-queen sister, she too is experienced clever makeup trickery and lip-contour.

I've scoured the web for similar shades to achieve this pout. As her family is an avid lover of MAC I thought that would be the best place to start.

Kylie Jenner Lips
MAC Brave Lipstick and MAC Whirl Lip Pencil

In this look, I've used MAC Whirl Lip Pencil to line and fill the lips. It's a brown pink shade that would look good on everyone. I overl-lined my top lip - concentrating on the sides of the lips and avoiding the Cupid's bow to avoid that drag queen or 'I don't know how to apply lip liner look' that colouring over the Cupid's bow can give.

After lining I apply MAC Brave lipstick a creamy brown pink shade that is a few shades brighter than Whirl. To achieve the matte but luscious finish, tap over some translucent powder. I've used MAC Blot Powder here but any translucent powder would do.

Finish up with large fluttery false eyelashes and you're good to go. Don't forget to Instagram a few selfies Kardashians style.

Kylie Jenner Lips

Word of these Becca highlighters have been circulating in the beauty world for months now. It was only when I made the effort to pop by my local Space NK did I believe how precious and beautiful these are. It's tempting to pick up all the Becca highlighters as anyone's inner magpie would agree but I restricted myself to just a couple, with one left I am lemming for which I find myself still constantly thinking of...

Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed
Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed. Now this is the definition of a highlighter. It makes cheekbones truly pop. It is super flattering on photography, both flash and not. It is more metallic of the two. Truly beautiful.

Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed
Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed. Of the two I picked up this is the more wearable everyday type of highlighter. It is a shimmery pale gold that reflects in a natural way to emphasize the cheekbones. I believe it would suit medium to fair skintones, deeper skintones would perhaps find this too ashy.

Have you tried Becca Highlighters? If so which one is your favourite? And by the way, happy new year! x
