As much as I adore my favourite red Rimmel nail polish that I have been using for the last 8 years, I believe its time to revamp my nail winter wardrobe. I chose none other than Essie to provide me with the rich berry hues that are so 'in' for the fall and winter season.
Essie Russian Roulette Nail Polish is a cherry red-orange shade. Easy to apply, minimal streaking and fully opaque in two coats.
Essie Bahama Mama Nail Polish is a medium to dark berry shade. Out of all the shades I had, this one was the most difficult to apply as it was quite streaky. If you're patient enough you can get good results, it is just NOT one of those shades to use when in a rush!
Essie Bordeaux Nail Polish applied lighter than I expected in the bottle. It is a dark cherry shade with a hint of brown. The finish is perfect. Pure love!
Now the following three are part of the Essie Winter Collection.
Essie Tuck It In My Tux Nail Polish is a semi-sheer jelly polish. It does not apply evenly, whites seldomly do! Three coats in this swatch. Perhaps not the best one of the lot.
Essie Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low Nail Polish. I often love shimmery shades (shimmer not glitter) as the streaks tend to be minimal and / or easily hidden beneath the shimmers. I'm a fan of this silvery white-gold shade, perfect for the parties!
Essie Jump in My Jumpsuit Nail Polish is a beautiful cherry red shade with an easy streak-free finish. I love this, I'm sure it will become one of my staples.
Don't get me wrong - I believe in oldies but goodies and I don't think nail polish really expires. Perhaps deep inside I was just looking for a reason to splurge. Now that I've dipped my fingers in some Essie, are there any shades you recommend that I try?
