A Sephora Haul: New Face Bases

If there's a type of makeup product I would purchase over and over in the same shade, that would be foundation. This year I noticed my foundation collection exponentially increase. I just love testing different brands and different formulas. Because these are face products, I have them in rotation and so I don't get guilty as much as when I purchase vampy lipsticks that generally need a bit more loving.

Here's a recent haul for face bases by myself and my sister from Sephora, a post that we've both put up together. Two things that I have been looking forward to since the minute I booked my trip to the US... Let the excitement begin!

Livia's Bits: NC30

As far as face bases go, I had my eyes on these two: Bare Minerals bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation and the matching Bare Minerals Perfecting Face Brush.

I picked the shade in Bare Buff 10 which is a good match for my NC30 skin. It has a very thin watery consistency providing light coverage and a subtle glow. It comes with a good SPF20 too. If its hyperpigmentation or blemishes you want to cover, this is perhaps not the right one for you, but if you're like me and sometimes you just want a lightweight comfortable foundation, this is something you should have on your list to try.

The Perfecting Face Brush is an interesting buffer brush that's heavily packed with super soft bristles. It has an indentation in the centre that keeps a dollop of foundation ready for blending. A handy brush - no need for a 'palette hand'!

While browsing through the foundations, the sales attendant could not stop gushing about the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light. It applies really smoothly and works to minimise the appearance of pores and shine either worn alone or under foundation. Perhaps one of the best primers I've tried...

Shannon's Picks: NC40

After using MAC Mineralised Concealer and MAC Face Powder for years and years I decided to branch out into other brands. Our little trip to Sephora let me have that. I was in need of a concealer with enough coverage to cover blemishes and dark undereye circles and with my sister's advice I picked out NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger.

A powder foundation was a bit more tricky to find with my yellow tan skintone. Most powders leaned too pink to match. We found that Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder in the shade 10 was the best fit. It is so fine-milled and provides light to medium coverage depending on how much you layer it. It feels comfortable on the skin. I love it.

A sneaky pic outside Target!

So that's a whirlwind post on our haul of new face bases, perhaps one of a few more haul posts to come...

Have you tried any of these products?
