If you've been following me on twitter, you'll know that I recently attended (and was lucky enough to be invited to present) at the prestigious EADV Congress held in Amsterdam. This massive conference with 12,000 attendees was a huge melting pot of vast amounts of information and Dermatology secrets and innovations worldwide.
Leading skincare companies were also invited to take part and here are some of the latest in Anti-Ageing Skincare:
L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Peeling Lotion Night
This peeling lotion contains Glycolic Acid an often used ingredient in chemical peels in Dermatology clinics. Applied every night this gently resurfaces the skin, delaying wrinkles and lightening dark spots. It is gentle on sensitive skin and many see effective results in just 1-2 weeks. Make sure you apply this at night or if you are pressed to do this in the morning, apply some sunscreen after.
L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser Renew Global Care Day SPF25
This is a lovely light day cream that has protective SPF25. It has 3% Pro-Xylane that protects against premature ageing. What more - it's an excellent base under makeup.
Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 Youth Enhancing Serum
This is a light gel-serum that makes the skin feel so silky soft and supple. Active ingredient 10% Rhamnose helps stimulate the natural healing processes of the skin. It is lightly fragranced, lightweight and dries quickly. You can use this day or night. It wont provide essential moisture however especially for the cold winter season, it is a serum afterall.
Vichy Liftactiv Advanced Filler Cream
This fantastic filler combines highly concentrated pure retinol and LR2412 to reduce wrinkles and improve skin radiance. It also moisturises very well. I would advocate using this at night and not to apply too much as the retinol can cause skin redness and irritation which can also be worsened by sunlight. Retinol is a very potent anti-ageing and anti-acne chemical and is fantastic for all skins.
Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Age-Defying Cream
This anti-ageing cream is a day cream moisturiser with Matrixyl, which targets eyes, jaw line and neck for dramatically younger looking skin. It moisturises really well and I am hoping it wil be excellent for the cold months. Only thing I don't like about it is the jar packaging that encourages double dipping, but otherwise I am happy with the product itself.
So there's a run through of new anti-ageing products in my ridiculously massive arsenal. My skin isn't particularly wrinkly having been blessed with oriental genes, but I am a big believer in wrinkle-prophylaxis. Afterall, preventing wrinkles is much easier and cheaper than regular botox / fillers for once you get them.
