My First Charlotte Tilbury Gift Box

That's one good thing about having a beauty addict girlfriend, you know what presents to get her. Just as long as you make sure its already in her collection of beauty bits, anything goes -- and she'll be thrilled!

This post is a little late but something definitely worth writing. It's my review of Charlotte Tilbury's Golden Goddess Makeup Set that my sweet other half picked out for me to give me on my birthday. He likes to think he knows which makeup looks great on me, and I gotta say he's right!

Let's get onto the deets!!

Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy Cheek to Chic Blusher

Ecstasy is a peachy pink blush with rose-gold shimmers that is very fine-milled and well-pigmented. It applies very well. I like how her blushers have two colours in them. Charlotte Tilbury suggests swirling both colours to blend on the cheeks and the inner colour to pat on the apples to make them pop. Genius!

Charlotte Tilbury The Sophia The Classic Eye Powder Pencil

This is a medium brown pencil with fine gold glitters. It doesn't line completely opaque and smudges easily for that smokey eye look. I would not use this on the waterline however due to the glitters and for the lack of staying power.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Lip Cheat Lip Liner

Now this is something I've been meaning to try for some time now! This is a medium pink-nude that matches my lip colour well. It is very long lasting and yet applies creamily. It is one of those longwearing lip pencils that don't shrink wrap your lips. A must-have from Charlotte Tilbury's makeup line.

Charlotte Tilbury Ibiza Nights Lip Lustre

This is a semi-sheer nude lip gloss with predominantly gold shimmers, but they are in fact multi-coloured. I remember one of the MAs and I at the shop had a little disagreement with this one, she described them as 'nonsticky' before she swatched them on my hand, but these are definitely sticky. Not as sticky as MAC lipglasses though.

Charlotte Tilbury Stoned Rose Lipstick

This is a beautiful red-toned rose lipstick that looks fantastic with a tan. It applies with a slight sheen.

Charlotte Tilbury The Golden Goddess Luxury Eyeshadow Palette

Saving the best for last, this palette is definitely one of my faves from the makeup line. The colours are perfect for that golden beach glow with super silky eyeshadow textures. They are composed of a shimmery pale gold, a shimmery light-medium taupe, a super glittery tan bronze and a shimmery medium tan. Unfortunately no matte eyeshadows here, but I already have enough of those in my collection!

MUST-HAVES

All these products can be purchased individually, and if you streamline your purchases, you get better bang for your buck. If I had to choose must-haves from this kit, they would be Pillowtalk lip pencil, Stoned Rose lipstick and The Golden Goddess Luxury Eyeshadow Palette.

NOT-SO-MUST-HAVES

I probably would not purchase the eye pencil as it smudges and the lipgloss as it is too sticky for my liking. The blush is a fab idea although the colour is not unique and you might already have similar shades in your stash!

Which Charlotte Tilbury girl are you?

  1. I desperately want the makeup bag and maybe an eye or cheek product since they've been so raved about. I'm a no-buy but I'm definitely going to check out her products after my no-buy is over! Thanks for the review!
