A is for Astral Cream |
Astral Cream is a multi-tasking cream that can be as an everyday moisturiser to keep skin soft and smooth, as a lip balm, makeup remover, face primer, hand cream and after sun cream. It is a very hydrating moisturiser that can soften even the driest of knees and elbows. It is one of those oldies but goodies that has been used since the 1950s. The formula has been essentially unchanged since its first release, an iconic beauty product.
On first impressions, it has a light powdery scent reminiscent of baby lotion in a tub which is relatively non-hygienic compared to a pump bottle but it is quite thick so a pump might not work at all. Just make sure you use clean hands before using it, or if you intend to use it on other people, take some on a cotton bud and dot it around your face to avoid the double/triple dips.
I apply this on my face at night right after washing my face to lock in moisture. You might look a little greasy as it sets but you'll be amazed at how plump and smooth your skin becomes! This comforts irritated sensitive skin and hydrates dry patches. It will not cause acne breakouts for most and it wears well under makeup as a primer. Some people have compared this as a dupe to the famous La mer but I have not personally tried the latter to make a good comparison.
I would recommend this for those with stubbornly sensitive dry flaky skin in need of moisture and for those who would like to try a high quality moisturiser at an extremely affordable price!
You can pick up a tub of Astral Cream (£3.89 for 200ml) available from Superdrug stores nationwide. Your wallet will love you for it!

It's a really good drugstore find! But I'm sure you have a few more higher end creams in your stash that are equally as lush :) x
ReplyDeleteThat is true.. but I wouldn't mind saving money on a 20:80 rule! 20% the price and 80% the efficiency! ;-)
