MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is one incredible concealer. It does what it says on the tin. If I anticipate a long day ahead, in the summertime, needing full coverage for spots/scars/bad undereye circles, I use this product. It is great to conceal spots on the torso as well to reveal a flawless decolletage.

It provides a full coverage that hides pores and facial lines but feels very lightweight, smooth and easy to blend. It applies a bit liquidy for an easy fluid application but it dries quite quickly so you'll have to work faster.

The effect is a satiny finish with full coverage, but I must admit, it looks too perfect to look natural. It feels light on the skin but it looks heavy with its full coverage.

It has excellent staying power and does not crease, cake or slip. My makeup still looks flawless 8 hours after the initial application!

Sometimes when I feel like I am particularly having a bad skin day, I use this all over the face like a foundation with a foundation brush. As far as acne goes, I find this does not aggravate my skin. It does not block pores.

It comes in a small glass bottle with a pump which really does dispense out too much product if you use the full pump. Make sure you take care to control how much you press - I use a half pump for selective cover ups or the full pump for the entire face for bad-skin days!

A little goes a long way and an entire tube will probably last you 6-12 months.

I know some people dislike the smell. Some have described this to smell of paint. But after a while the scent dissipates and you won't recognize it anymore. I find this is a little trade for the excellent coverage and staying power you get with this product!

Application Tips:

Moisturise well beforehand as this product can accentuate dry patches.

This product dries fast, so you have to apply quickly. Once it sets, it doesn't budge for over 10 hours.

I place one pump on the back of my hand (specifically on my skin over the anatomical snuffbox) and use a fluffy MAC 224 brush or an equivalent to apply that airbrushed look onto my skin.

You don't need to set this powder over this unless you want a super matte look.

Again, this is one incredible concealer and I believe it is a must-have in your makeup arsenal for those days when you feel the need for that extra bit of coverage - to cover acne spots and seriously stubborn hyperpigmentation.
