On the look out for new NARS blushes? NARS blushes are renowned for their fantastic pigmentation, easy blendable application and wide selection of colours. Over the last few years I have accumulated a few (bah what an understatement I shamelessly admit) and I decided to come up with a list of 10 NARS blushes you can try and pick up from your local beauty counter!
NARS Dolce Vita Blush
NARS Dolce Vita Blush is a matte dark rose with a hint of red. It contains no shimmer. It works well on fair and olive skintones. A perfect fall winter shade, and makes me feel more sophisticated wearing it. It is very pigmented, be sure to apply sparingly and build on the colour as needed!
NARS Gilda Blush
Are you looking for the perfect matte pinky peach? Then look no further! NARS Gilda Blush is a beautiful peachy coral blush that gives a healthy glow. It makes for a wonderful everyday colour without looking too stark or overdone. You can wear this to job interviews, work, or any other places where you want a polished but understated look. It looks great on fair to medium skintones with warm yellow undertones. It is very pigmented, be sure to use a light hand.
NARS Gaiety Blush
NARS Gaiety Blush is a bubble gum pink that looks very bright on the pan but provides the most beautiful innocent doll-like flush to the cheeks that brightens up the entire face, like a glow from within. You don't have to worry about too much redness or clown cheeks with this (as long as you apply sensibly). It lasts all day and does not seem to oxidise on me, retaining its beautiful bright colour. Definitely a winner!
NARS Gina Blush
NARS Gina Blush is a beautiful silky matte true peach. It has less pink than NARS Gina blush above. It gives off a natural, warm, summery look. It complements both light and dramatic makeup. A very versatile shade. It is highly pigmented and can be sheered or layered as required. It works well on most skintones, and even ladies with pink undertones! This one is definitely something you must try!
NARS Madly Blush
NARS Madly Blush is a pink beige when applied gives off that natural understated pink flush. It's good for when you want a matte bronze look with minimal shimmer. Its great for olive to dark skin tones and applied lightly, it can give a glowy bronzy colour to pale skintones but at the say time may risk looking muddy. It's like marmite - some love it and some hate it. Be sure to check it out!
NARS Luster Blush
Ah NARS Luster, where do I begin? NARS Luster Blush is a golden apricot with peachy tones and golden shimmer. It is gorgeous on medium olive skintones (such as myself) and is also a good one to try for the blush-phobic. The lack of pink tones also works well if you suffer any redness of your face as it essentially neutralises it. When applied, it provides me that 'J.Lo Glow' and is one of my staple to-go blushes for partying and clubbing, and makes me feel like a VS Fashion Model! (emphasis on the feel! ha ha)
NARS Lovejoy Blush
NARS Lovejoy Blush is a warm rose bronze with icy gold shimmer. While it may look like a boring dark brown on the pan, on the cheeks it provides a healthy natural sun-kissed glow. It looks gorgeous on olive or tan skintones with yellow undertones, while fairer skinned ladies would need a light hand for this. I can go on without contouring with this blush!
NARS Torrid Blush
NARS Torrid Blush is a bright coral that can be applied subtly or built up for a flattering flush. It has a few specs of gold but when applied it doesn't appear glittery at all. This is especially flattering on people with warmer complexions and for women of colour. If NARS Orgasm blush doesn't work for you, maybe this one will!
NARS Sin Blush
NARS Sin Blush is a deep dusky pink berry shade. It gives off a nice natural sheen, not sparkly at all. It may look dull on the pan but when applied, it adds an air of sophistication . It makes for a wonderful shade in the cold winter months. Because it is quite a deep shade, you can go with minimal contouring! It also looks particularly great on mature skins. Love it!
NARS Deep Throat Blush
NARS Deep Throat Blush is by far one of my favourite blushes. A love at first swatch affair. It is a peachy pink that adds an innocent flush to the cheeks. It can be built up with its great pigmentation. It contains delicate fine shimmer that does not scream disco ball. It wears well and is an all around good guy! (I'm always a sucker for the guy next door -type)
NARS Orgasm Blush
And finally, NARS Orgasm Blush is the one that everyone would have heard of, either for its cult status in the beauty world or for its controversial name. It is a shimmery pinky peach that is a bit ligher than NARS Deep Throat. NARS Orgasm Blush may not suit everyone because of its shimmers (risk of enlarging pores, disco-looking, etc) but applied subtly it provides a peachy sunny glow. It's great for younger ladies, and it makes for a gorgeous colour especially worn in the spring and summer.
