Do you suffer from red cheeks, sallow skin, dark under eye circles or does your skin just need a bit of a glow?
MAC Cosmetics are launching the MAC Prep + Prime Colour Correct Collection designed to fix our uneven skin tone woes with the use of coloured powders and creams. Powders will be available as loose powders and pressed compacts. These colours will be available in cream form that come with SPF 30.
Correctors are different from concealers. Correctors act to neutralise colour, whereas concealers act to cover up. You can use them both in looks or one or the other depending on your skin's needs.
I like using these types of products underneath my overall foundation or face powder.

How to colour correct using makeup
Do you remember the colour wheel? As a general rule of thumb, use colours opposite the shade you want to correct in the wheel. For example:
1. Peach neutralises blue-toned shadows such as dark under-eye circles, moustache shadows etc. It hides away noticeable veins. For this reason, the peach-toned Bobbi Brown Correctors are ever popular!
2. Yellow lightens dark complexions. It can also conceal bruises, under-eye circles like peach. If you remember the madness from Kim Kardashian's favourite Ben Nye Banana eyeshadow, it is essentially a yellow corrector powder that is great for brightening the skin.
3. Lavender, lilac or pink are good for neutralising sallow and dull skin. This mutes overly yellow undertones such as oriental skintones and brightens the skin. Good for Oriental skintones.
4. Apricot is great for medium to dark skintones to add a bit of a glow to the skin. This provides a brightening effect. Great for Asian skintones.
5. Green counteracts redness. This is ideal for patients who are acne-prone or have rosacea. I suggest a sheer mint green corrector to not make it too obvious. I would apply this on cheeks, forehead, T-zone, chin as needed. Good for fair skintones with redness.

One thing that I wish they added to this lineup however is a green corrector! I don't know how that shade was missed out. I remember green correctors are so useful in correcting red tones, and especially good for stage makeup from my performing days!
These beauties will be added to the permanent line. I would say there's no need to rush, but these look absolutely promising and I will be picking up a few.

I love the look of the loose powders. I think the peachy beige or yellow would be best for my skin.
