MAC Girl Next Door lipstick from the MAC Archie's Girls collection is a pale whitish pink with a hint of lavender with a lustre finish. It belongs to the Betty line up.

It is reminiscent of Fashion Mews lipstick from the MAC Hello Kitty collection.

I find that this is quite unforgiving on flaky lips and exfoliating is a must with this product. Also since the colour is quite different from my natural lip colour, I find that using a similar-coloured lip liner as a base helps keep the colour in place. This colour would look great paired with a smokey eye look.

MAC Girl Next Door Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, DKNY

I love this beautiful trend. Glowing skin just makes one look so fresh, fitting for spring.
The key to this look is getting a liquid foundation with a dewy finish.
Alternatively, you can water down thicker foundations with a bit of moisturiser.
I love using a mix of Sleek Makeup New Skin Revive Foundation and MAC Oil Control Lotion.
It gives me just enough coverage but leaves skin looking naturally dewy.

To get this look:

1. Moisturise your skin. I use 2 sprays of NUXE Huile Prodigieuse oil to cover my entire face and neck.

2. Mix 1 pump of Sleek Makeup New Skin Revive Foundation and 2 pumps of MAC Oil Control Lotion.

3. With a MAC 188 brush or fingertips, apply and blend the mixture all over the face and neck,

4. Highlight the bridge of your nose, cheekbones, and underneath the eyebrows with a creamy highlighter - I love using MAC Pearl Cream Colour Base.

Tidy your brows, put on mascara, blush and some lip balm - and you're good to go!

Here I am using all the products mentioned above, including Bourjois Queen Attitude Mascara
Etude House Brow Pencil, NARS Deep Throat Blush and MAC Cut a Caper Lipstick.

Beauty Trends for Spring/Summer 2013 - Glowing Skin Tutorial incl FOTD

Here I have 4 amazing nail polishes to share with you.
They are 4 of Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamels.

A few reasons why I love them:
They super easy to apply with their giant fan effect brush,
apply evenly with a single stroke,
dry quickly (although not as quick as 1 second as they claim),
and they are pretty long lasting.

11 is a true red with a glossy finish.
10 is a true orange with a glossy finish.
07 is a barbie pink with a glossy finish.
12 is a vampy dark red with a glossy finish.
I love these colours, I can see a lot of use for these in the coming months!

Available from your local drugstore or the Bourjois website .

MAC Betty Bright Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

MAC Ronnie Red lipstick from the MAC Archie's Girls collection is a bright bluish red lipstick with a creamy matte finish. It belongs to the Veronica line up.

Unlike some matte formulas, this one is quite creamy and not drying
- it does not feel like cling wrap on the lips!
It contains no shimmers.

I think this colour would look great on all skintones.

This colour is great for pin up looks - with black mascara and eyeliner, or paired with smokey gold or brown eye makeup!

MAC Ronnie Red Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

MAC Prom Princess blush from the MAC Archie's Girls Collection is a mid-tone pink berry blush with a sheen in a satin finish. It is part of the Veronica line up of products.
It is soft to apply and relatively easy to blend.

Boyfriend Stealer, Ronnie Red, Prom Princess, Veronica's blush (light, hearts, swirled)

This blush is extremely pigmented.
For day-to-day wear, those with fairer skintones should apply this with a light hand or with a duo fibre brush such as the MAC 188 brush to prevent it from looking too harsh.

Those with darker skintones may get away with a single swipe and then blending it out.

Available from your local MAC Cosmetics store or the MAC website (while supplies last!).

MAC Prom Princess Blush Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie's Girls)

MAC Veronica's Blush Pearlmatte face powder from the MAC Archie's Girls collection is a beautiful pink-themed highlighter consisting of a very pale pink shimmery base and bright magenta coloured hearts. It belongs to the Veronica line up. Swirled together, this makes a beautiful icy pink highlighter.
With a small flat brush, the two colours can be used separately as eyeshadows.

Very light skintones may find that this also works as a blush!
It is very pigmented, blendable, and a delight to use!

I love this product and I think I will be getting much use from this one.

MAC Veronica’s Blush Pearlmatte Face Powder Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

MAC Boyfriend Stealer lipstick from the MAC Archie's Girls collection is a dark purple grey with a glossy cremesheen finish. It belongs to the Veronica line up.

It's a pretty unique colour and I don't own anything like it.
I was first wary about this colour, but the bf said it was the most unique and vampiest among all the lipsticks from this collection. He virtually pushed me to purchase this.
And I have no regrets at all!
It is gorgeous and actually quite sexy.
The cremesheen formula is smooth and creamy to apply.
It is glossy but not shimmery.
However I find that it has the tendency not to last very long
and leave patches of colour on your lips.
I find that using a similar-coloured lip liner as a base
helps keep the colour in place.

This colour may be intimidating and one may think it is quite difficult to pull off because the colour is quite dark and intense, however it works well with minimal effort: just simple eye makeup, such as plain black eyeliner and mascara.

I think this colour would look great on all skintones.
However, because of the grey undertones,
I think it would particularly look good on those with dark hair.

MAC Boyfriend Stealer Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

Bottega Veneta, Diane von Furstenberg, Roberto Cavalli

Contouring is part of my daily makeup routine.
I just love having well-defined cheekbones as it helps make my puffy cheeks look a little bit less so.
I also contour my nose, temples, forehead and underneath the chin.

Contouring consists of 2 products - one for highlighting and one for shading.

Good highlighting shades are luminescent whites (for fair skinned), pale golds (for yellow toned people) or pale peaches (for more tanned individuals).

Good contouring shades are matte bronze colours. Red toned for those with pinker skin, and yellow or neutral toned for those with yellow tinged skin.

I have Oriental skin which has yellow undertones, and my go-to products are the following:

MAC Pearl Cream Colour Base, Benefit Hoola Bronzer
(I love them so much and you can see I've hit pan on both!)
You could say they are my holy-grail products.

I apply Benefit Hoola Bronzer with a large tapered brush (MAC 138). I suck my cheeks in and apply the bronzer underneath the cheekbones. I then brush some bronzer on the temples of my forehead, hairline, and underneath my chin. With my middle finger, I take a bit and contour the sides of my nose.

I then dab some MAC Pearl Cream colour base on my ring finger and I apply it on the bridge of my nose, above the cheekbones and underneath my eyebrows for highlight.

And voila! Extra definition to enhance your features.

Are you a fan of contouring?

LOOK: Grunge Liner - Smokey Brown Eyes

 Lanvin, Diane von Furstenberg, Versace

This isn't an eyeliner look I usually go for. I tend to focus the eyeshadow on the upper lids and keep the lower lash line free from any dark shades to give me that bright doe eyed look.
This trend on the other hand focuses on lining the lower lash line with dark shadows
to make that smokey sexy grungy look - the 'not-so-innocent' bedroom eyes effect.

The key to this is using a dark matte brown eyeshadow on the bottom lashes.
I find that using black makes it look a bit too dark and almost raccoon like,
where as dark brown is just perfect.
You also want the colour to be matte or satin as opposed to frosty.
Makes it look a little more smokey!

 Surprisingly, I'm a big fan!
The breakdown of this look to come up in the next post.
