MAC Satin Taupeeyeshadow is one of those cult favourite eyeshadows that many beauty bloggers have in their beauty arsenal. It's a shade that is not quite brown and not quite grey - something that sits in between. When worn, it gives that subtle smokey effect that is deemed 'safe' for the makeup shy and also works for the more daring makeup lovers. Here's a simple smokey eye look using Satin Taupe, which I wore to dinner with one of my friends. What do you think?
I started by prepping my skin with moisturiser. I applied MAC Mineralize Concealer in NC25 to cover my under eye circles and blemishes, and blended them together with a small fluffy brush. I then applied MACPrep & Prime Transaparent Finishing Powder all over my face with a large stippling brush. Moving to the eyes, I applied MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow on the lid using a flat eyeshadow brush, followed byMAC Espresso eyeshadow to the crease with a fluffy eyeshadow brush and blended this out. I created sharp thin lines on my upper lash line using Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner.
To the cheeks, I used Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour, and applied MAC Blonde Mineralize Skinfinish to the apples of my cheeks. Using fingers, I applied MAC Pearl cream colour base above my cheekbones for highlight.
After all the powder has been dusted, I placed a couple of coats of Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara on my eyelashes. I heated my MAC Eyelash Curler and once warm, I used this to curl my eyelashes. I lined my upper waterlines with Maybelline Master Smokey eyeliner and shaped my eyebrows using Etude House Brow Pencil.
To finish, I applied L'occitane Pivoine Delicate Lipstick to my lips and spritzed on a couple sprays of Prada Candy Eau de Toilette.
