Weathered Cheeks
Issa, A F Vandervorst, Michael Kors
This look is one of my favourites for the winter.
It's the look of having 'weathered cheeks'
like you've just spent the day out about in the cold weather
playing in the snow.
I know some people think it just looks like
'slapped cheeks'
but as long as you don't apply too much blush
it looks great!
The tools you need for this look are:
A large brush - preferably a blush brush
A matte or satin finish bright pink blush
My current favourite blush brush is this Japonesque Powder Brush
for its super soft yet firm bristles.
My favourite pink blushes for this look are:
MAC Pink Swoon blush, MAC Sweetness blush (LE), NARS Gaiety Blush
How to:
There are generally two ways of applying blush:
One way is to apply it on the apples of your cheeks.
To do this, smile and apply directly on your cheekbones, and sweep outwards.
Another way is to suck your cheeks in and apply on the cheekbones,
above the hollows of your cheeks.
I find that the second way helps sculpt your cheeks better,
accentuating your cheekbones more.
It's also better for mature skin by giving an extra 'lift' to your face.
To Wear:
I love wearing this look with pink lips.
Baby pink or hot pink - virtually any shade would look great.
Just be careful to match your eye makeup with your lips:
with hot pink lips - avoid heavy dark eye shadow.
Check out a few looks I've done in the past with the bright pink cheek!
Sweetness: Vegas Volt, Viva Glam Lady Gaga
Pink Swoon: Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Winter's Chill, Feline, Red Eyeshadow
Would you try this look? ♥

This looks really pretty on the models but I'm not sure if it'll work for me.
