MAC Superb and Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinishes
(the former has been swatched hence it doesn't look as neat as the latter!)

MAC Whisper of Gilt and Superb Extra Dimension Skinfinishes have been repromoted in this year's
MAC Christmas collection - Glamour Daze.

They are powder highlighters that are so soft and pigmented,
on the skin, they are reflective and luminous,
perfect for highlighting the face.

They are long-wearing and
last up to about 8 hours on my face before I need re-touching.

I bought Superb from the first collection it was launched.
I initially reviewed it here
On my skin, it appears like a pinky-toned silver.
With the flash, I don't think this is particularly flattering for my complexion,
as it looks quite peachy and unnatural as a highlight colour.

Whisper of Gilt is a soft peachy nude that leans golden on my skin.
Because of my yellow/olive undertones,
I find this to be more natural-looking and suitable highlighter for my skin.
And this one I definitely recommend!

MAC Whisper of Gilt, Superb Extra Dimension Skinfinish Review, Swatches

I LOVE big hair.
Being oriental with normally sleek straight hair,
big fluffy hair is something I've always craved for.

I've decided to give my hair a break from perming,
so I'm keeping it straight for now,
but to give my hair a bit more volume,
I've been resorting to volumising hair products
and hair sprays.

I have used this ghd Style Root Lift Spray a few times,
and I must say I quite like it.
It does give some volume,
which lasts a couple of hours on my heavy
and normally very straight hair.

After towel-drying hair,
I flip my head down
and spritz my hair with this product,
concentrating the initial spray on the roots
then I massage through my hair
and blow-dry my hair upside down.
That way I get the most volume.

My only criticism is that
it seems to leave my scalp 'feeling' (but not looking) dirty.
And I noticed that after a single use of it,
I developed a few spots on my scalp and along my hair line.

My advise is that if you are particularly acne-prone
you should be careful with this product.

Otherwise, if you are one of those lucky folk
who do not have problems with acne
then this product is one to try for volumising hair!

Available at £12.95 for 100ml from the ghd website.
