MAC Legendary blush is one of two blushes released in the
MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection.
MAC describes this as a pale soft coral
in a satin formula.
On my NC30 skin, it is definitely a pale coral
with very faint shimmers.
It is quite sheer,
although a single swipe will yield product.
In terms of the colour
I feel that because its so pale
it might look chalky on skins deeper than NC30-40,
which is a shame really
just a little bit darker
would make it wearable for most skin tones.
Although, that said, the paler/sheer cheek colours
would look good with the dark lipsticks
in this collection.
On my NC25-30 skin,
it gives me a pretty flush.
Similar to that of MAC Launch Away Blush
which is another pale blush
released in the Hey Sailor summer collection this year.
And I've been using this pretty much every day!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt the same way about this blush. I recently did a post on the same exact blush. What a BIG disappointment! Did you get a chance to swatch "The Perfect Blush"? You may like that one ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to this one too, it looks so pretty in the pan! But actually on the cheeks it gives me a pretty flush - similar to Launch Away blush x http://www.princess-livia.com/2012/05/mac-launch-away-blush-review-and.html
DeleteIts a lovely colour! x

Thanks Judy! x
DeleteI really like this colour but I also find it very pale and I'm pale skinned. The other blush in the collection is slightly better in terms of colour :)

You're right, The Perfect Cheek is a bit darker in shade! x
DeleteIt is a lovely color. Just checked it out last week, but the color didn;t work for me. It just didn't show up well... It did show... but too powdery... did i make any sense??
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It is a bit chalky! x
Deletesuch a pretty colour for a subtle look :)

Definitely. Because it is so pale! x
DeleteI'm an NC30 as well, this wouldn't show up on me much either. I would love to own a color like that but more opaque/pigmented. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there are quite a few blushes out there which would be more pigmented than this. I love the brightening effect of this one tho!

ReplyDeleteIt looks super sheer! Not sure if it's worth it or not.
