In early May 2012,
Lolita Lempicka launched a new fragrance named
Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blanc
or “water in white”.
"The fragrance is dreamy and romantic,
inspired by the scent of white violets,
which is interpreted in the signature Lolita Lempicka gourmand style.
The top notes include powdery iris and violet leaves.
Violet flower in the heart is enriched with sweet aromas of
cherry, raspberry and licorice,
while the base is woody and oriental due to accords of
vetiver, tonka bean, heliotrope and musk."

It is definitely a floral gourmand type of scent,
with a soapy/powdery finish.
Slightly sweet, slightly woody, slight musk
but I can barely smell the cherry and raspberry it claims.
Personally, I don't mind this perfume,
it's just not something I would fall for.
It is pleasant one though, and safe for work.
It is not something I would wear on an evening date or out partying.
But rather, it makes me think of pleasant picnics in the park.
It typically lasts 3-6 hours on my skin,
with mild to moderate sillage.

I am slowly getting into perfumes, and while perusing my local House of Fraser, I smelled a whiff of this walking past the perfumerie and was immediately drawn to the Lancome counter. When I asked the lovely lady attending, it was the new Lancome fragrance -- La Vie Est Belle perfume.
Housed in a gorgeous glass bottle, this scent is as sweet as it looks.
My first thoughts were 'it smells just like candy floss!' with a hint of vanilla and praline. It is so very slightly powdery, which I find keeps the sweetness from being overpowering. I wanted some time to decide on what perfumes I buy, so the lovely lady gave me a sample to take home.
"La Vie Est Belle is a new Lancome fragrance, available on the market from fall 2012. The concept of this fragrance is centered on the idea of natural and simple beauty, freedom from conventions and the choice of once own vision of happiness.
The fragrance is a kind of outlook on life, inspired by joy and pleasure in small things. This gourmand yet elegant composition is developed by perfumers Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo.
The final formula is the result achieved after three years of probation and 5000 versions. Iris is the key ingredient of the perfume, surrounded by orange blossoms and jasmine in the heart.
The composition’s opening provides fruity flavors of black currant and pear, while the base is warm, gourmand and powdery due to almond-like accords of tonka bean, praline, patchouli and vanilla.
The flacon is a redesigned version of the classic Lancome bottle from 1949. Actress Julia Roberts is the face of the campaign, shot by director Tarsem Singh." - Fragrantica.com
I've tried it a few times and I've got to say, the scent does linger on for a long time around 7-12 hours.
The only downside is that because of how sweet this smells it sure does not help an empty stomach!
Lancome La Vie Est Belle Eau De Parfum is priced at £39/56/70 for 30/50/70ml respectively. It is available from your local department store (House of Fraser, Selfridges, Debenhams, John Lewis) or the Lancome website.
What do you think? ♥

PS. I would suggest checking out this perfume (and any scents for that matter) in person before buying it as we all tend to have differences in tastes, and what works for me may not work for you. (although I do adore this perfume!!)
