My 21st Birthday And Outfit of the Day

I can't believe I'm 21 already. Time is definitely whizzing by.

Today was great; I had a lot of surprises. Mostly from my ever thoughtful younger ones. I'm so lucky to be their older sister!

They got me this skirt that I regretted not getting when I found out it had already been purchased. Little did I know, my brother and sister were the ones who bought it! They bought it last weekend and wrapped it at home, keeping it secret from me the whole time. So when I woke up and unwrapped the present that was placed next to me, I was so surprised I almost screamed lol.

Later on, dad came back from his morning clinic (I woke up 11ish :p), and he got me my favourite dessert foods! Cheesecakes and Sans Rival cake from Lachi's and Pastillas de leche. Oh did I have fun with those. Lol. He also brought me a gift from one of my mum's assistants, Tita Chrisalie.

When I unwrapped it, I almost screamed again! I loved her gift. She gave me Tutti Dolci Creme Brule smelling lipgloss and body lotion! Packaging is cute, but the products are even better. They smell really yummy too! I could just sniff the body lotion all day~~ haha.

Later that day, I also was able to speak to my honey via Skype! I haven't spoken to him in a while before then since he went home, and I wasn't expecting that I would be able to today. So that was a surprise, too. He also showed me his new haircut and colour! He looks really cool. I miss him loads though, but I'm happy he's alright. =)

After that, my family and I went to pick up my mom from her work at the mall, and then went to my favourite restaurant. But the thing was, Vietnamese food wasn't on for today, since they were hosting a Japanese buffet. I really like Japanese food too though, so we had that instead. I love spending time with my family. I love them loads.

So that was my birthday! Time is flying by too quickly, but I'm glad I have these lovely memories to last me my lifetime (unless I get Alzheimer's dementia... I hope that doesn't happen lol.)

And before I forget, here is my birthday outfit!

Punk Bunny top from Artwork (Philippines)
Skirt from Mags (Philippines) - this was the gift from my sibs. I love skirts ♥
Silver Shoes (UK)

My day was wonderful, and I hope you had a great day, too. Thanks for reading my post! ♥

LOOK: Pastel Green and Taupe

I dug out this Lancome 9-eyeshadow palette from my makeup stash. My mum gave it to me before I started loving makeup, and I did NOT like the colour pay off then. I thought it was really difficult to get the colours to show! Fast-forward 2 years later, I stumbled upon this while I was fixing up things, and decided to give it a go again - with my better brushes this time. My, I was surprised! This thing has some really good colours in it. I love the first row of shadows the most. I'm glad to take the palette back in my 'main' stash again. :)

Please excuse the growing brows!

I used:

EYES
MAC Soft Ochre paint pot
Lancome eyeshadows: Grey-Taupe, Whitish-Gold, Pastel Green, Brown
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

FACE
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium Dark
MAC Hipness Blush

LIPS
MAC Way to Love lipstick

I really thought this green shadow was a bit chalky and subtle, which makes it a wearable shade. So here's my look! I hope you liked it.

How often do you wear green eyeshadow? ♥

New Hair!

So I've been in the Philippines for about 3 weeks now, and my roots have been bugging me for ages. I knew I needed to do something about it but could not decide whether I should dye my roots brown again, or dye the rest of my hair back to my natural daark brown/almost black.

Then I thought, why not try something "new"? Like reverting back to my natural hair colour after 3 years of dyeing my hair brown?

And so I did!

And I don't regret it one bit. :)

What do you think of my 'new' hair colour?

Do u prefer Livia the Blackhair or Livia the Brownhair?

Thanks for reading! I'd love to hear your opinion. Have a nice day!

LOOK: Smokey Lilacs and Purples

This isn't exactly a look of the day per se, since I was only playing with my makeup and just put it one eye, half of my face, and on my lips. But nevertheless, I thought it might be worth placing on my blog, for my records and for your viewing. I really liked the effect of smokey purples, and I hope you do too! :)

Lip Swatch: MAC Pastel Emotion lipglass

Pastel Emotion lipglass is one of my most favourite lipglasses from MAC. Its a milky white pink with loads of sparkles. It brightens up any lipstick, and is such an innocent baby pink!

It was a limited edition lipglass which was launched in the 2008 Emmanuel Ungaro collection, but MAC releases these types of lipglosses several times a year, and I'm sure there's a similar one in the permanent line. ♥

I really like it. I hope to learn how to fix my own hair that way lol.

Here's a photo of my mom and I. I did her makeup too, since she doesn't usually wear much. Wish I knew how to put on false lashes on her though, since her lashes are a bit short. Hmm.. There are loads of stuff I must learn! :)

New Haircut!!

After 6 months, I've finally cut my hair again! That seems a long time lol... I prefer to have my hair cut back home here in the Philippines where its much cheaper. I must say my hair's grown reaally long, and I've had about 4inches of it cut off, and it still is pretty long!

I didn't know the hairstylist so I didn't want to him to do anything too dramatic - what if he can't do it right y'know?

Hair from behind...

Now my hair's been styled a little. In the Philippines, this cut is known as the 'slash' cut. Sis thinks this cut makes me look more fresh lol.

Thanks for reading guys! x

MAC UK PRICE INCREASE RANT!!

A few examples...

Lipsticks - £11 to £12
Lipglasses - £10.25 to £11.50
Eyeshadows - £9.75 to £11
Blush - £14 to £16

DAZZLEGLASS - £12 to £14 -- what I think is the most ridiculous of all! A lot less product than a normal lipglass!

I noticed a few days ago that MAC COSMETICS in the UK have increased their prices AGAIN (they already have sometime earlier this year)! I must say this was totally unexpected, and this leaves me a bit gutted.

I have been letting off getting a few products for ages, since I always thought I could get them later anyway - especially the ones in the permanent line. I've also been looking forward to the possibilities of getting stuff from the Color Craft line, which wasn't available until AFTER the increase!

I must say this is really ridiculous. MAC Cosmetics UK prices are a bit high already, eg. compared to MAC Cosmetics in the US, but why do they further increase their prices when MAC USA doesn't?

I really don't get it... Do they expect people to spend more on cosmetics in this time of crisis? But no... that's not the only possible outcome of this move.

This price increase has slapped me awake to reality that MAC IS an expensive brand. Although I do love it and their products have amazing quality, I still can't deny that fact. I realize I've been spending much money on what is JUST makeup, so hopefully this price increase will deter me from making more purchases, and encourage me to SHOP MY STASH! That way I can save more money for the more important things later on, and still be able to create looks my goodies won't go neglected. I hope other people would see it that way too. =)

... either that or I buy my MAC elsewhere instead of MAC UK like in the US, or get them from the Duty Free shops. :)

What do you feel about this price increase? Share your thoughts!

Lip Swatch: B Bobo Lip Gloss

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful BOBO Lip Gloss.

On a side note... in Tagalog (main Filipino language), Bobo means dumb. So it always makes me giggle every time I think of that translation for this gloss's name lol. :P

B Bobo Lip Gloss Review and Swatches!

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful lip gloss in Bobo

B's Bobo lip gloss is my first product from B, Lush's sister company that specialises in cosmetics and perfumerie, as opposed to Lush's toiletries and skin care. My BF helped me pick out this colour, in an attempt to help me venture out from the MAC world. And I don't regret it one bit.

First of all, the packaging is just amazing! So pretty. See more photos:

It was wrapped like so...

And placed in this little bag...

B's Bobo lipgloss is a beautiful shade of fuchsia pink with blue and silver glitters. It applies sheer so its easy to layer. It also goes on smoothly and makes your lips feel so soft and smooth without being sticky, and it also has that faint rose scent.

This product is long-wearing and stains your lips.

B's Bobo lipgloss vs. MAC Girl About Town lipstick:

One thing to note is an earlier expiry date of the products compared to other cosmetics, but this is because the company claims that they use as much natural products as possible. This makes their products less likely to cause allergies.

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful products are suitable for vegans, and the company is also against animal testing (although they do have human volunteers to test the products - which I always found weird). Although these points are definitely good things.

B's company also states:
"B NEVER TOO BUSY TO BE BEAUTIFUL feel that not only is the testing of cosmetic products and ingredients on animals unnecessary and unethical, but it is also scientifically unreliable, unable to adequately access the safety or efficiency of a product or ingredient, and may even allow unsafe products onto the market. We prefer to know that our products are safe for the humans that are going to be using them, so all of our products go through a rigorous assessment, and human trials using our panel of volunteer human testers. We prefer to use only natural ingredients with a proven record of safe use, and where we have to use synthetic ingredients or colour pigments we again use only those with a long and proven record of safe use."

So it all sounds good!

Do you own any products from B? What do you think of their products? ♥
