Products I'm Currently Using Aug '09!!

This look, again, was inspired by a Face Chart from MAC's Makeup Art Cosmetics collection. The face chart had yellow and green on the lid, and a bright blue on the lower lash line which is a colour I unfortunately do not have in my makeup stash at the moment. I decided to replace it with a *much* darker blue, and it seemed to work well.

I've also found my love for sponge tip applicators. They are amaazing when it comes to depositing colour! I used to hate them since I'd often see some *really old* sponge tips gone brittle lying around the house and that made me turn away from using them. However I got curious and tried them, and boy was I amazed!

ANYWAY back to my look, here's what I used:

MAC Soft Ochre (yellow toned base) paint pot over entire lid + browbone
MAC Femme Fi (whitish gold), Goldmine (yellow gold), Humid (dark green) and Freshwater (medium blue) eyeshadows
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero (black)
MAC Blacktrack fluidline

Dermablend concealer for undereyes
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium (beige) and Medium Dark (caramel)
MAC Refined Golden bronzer to contour
MAC Hipness blush on apples of cheeks
MAC Femme Fi eyeshadow to highlight

Estee Lauder Tawny lip liner
MAC Party Mate lipstick (hot pink with sparkles)
MAC Snowscene lipglass (white with white, red and turquoise sparkles) on center of lips

So... what do you think? ♥

...With the Balm's Two-Timer Mascara!

While shopping with my sister at Cebu, I came across this mascara and was intrigued by 1) the packaging, 2) the design (two mascara wands) and 3) the promise this mascara made. Without thinking twice, I bought it, and now after a few days of trying it I am glad to share my review!

What this product claims:

This long-lasting, smudge-proof and water-resistant mascara lasts all day and gives you different looks depending on the brush used. It's formulated with a new polymer that improves water resistance, prevents flaking, builds volume and gives a soft and natural feel. Additionally, it's paraben-free and formulated with panthenol which plumps the hair shaft. Size: 0.35 oz

My review:

The Balm's Two-Timer mascara is a double-ended mascara with two different brushes on each end. Not the white primer-mascara combination, but rather two different mascara wands for different purposes.

On the Right is 'Johnny Finetune' with a skinny brush that defines and lengthens my lashes. This side would be good for daytime looks which lashes are meant to look more natural.

On the Left is 'Marcus Lashalot', with a thicker brush and oddly shaped too. It spirals with a relatively large and wide dip in the middle. This is meant to give lashes more oomph and volume. Great for more glamorous looks and nights out!

Applying Lashalot on top of Finetune on my lashes immediately thickens my lashes for a bolder look, but you can apply this separately as well though I haven't tried that. I just like my lashes both defined and thickened, and applying coats of each of these thickens my lashes more.

The mascara smells good and doesn't seem to irritate my eyes or contact lenses. I find that it is smudge-proof, and doesn't clump *much* as I am not really an expert on putting on mascara.

I do like this mascara, but the only con I find in it is that I wish it was more 'black'. I know from the photos it does appear black, but its not as dark in person IMO. Its more of a dark grey.

In conclusion, the Balm's Two-Timer mascara is worth trying out in my opinion. Its versatility as a two-in-one for different lash looks is definitely a winner for me. Finetune for the day and Lashalot for the night. The box is also so pretty, with Vintage Glamour oozing from it. I'm definitely carrying the mascara (and in its packaging too) in my purse!

In the States, this mascara is sold by Sephora for $20. Try it!

Now for some photos!

Bare Lashes

Have you tried this product?

What is your HG (holy grail) mascara?? xx

Funny that you could see the reflection of my photographing arm on my eye :)

This is the gold-eyed look I wore to my little brother's program at Cebu where he was awarded a medal for his works at Kumon. I've also been able to take photos of this look under natural [sun]light. I wish I always could for my other looks since the colours appear more true, more natural~ But I wear makeup more at night than during the day, so I always miss the sun for my looks!

Well enough babbling from me. I used:

MAC Soft Ochre paint pot as base
MAC Goldmine Pandamonium and Femme Fi eyeshadows
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara

MAC Refined Golden Bronzer
MAC Summer Rose beauty powder

MAC Flowerplay lipstick

Clumpy lashes.. I really should have brought my eyelash comb!

Biig close up lol.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this look!!

How did your day go?

LOOK: Golden Eyes

I was inspired by one of the face charts at MAC's Makeup Art Cosmetics collection and decided to do this smokey green look. Hope you enjoy this! :)

I used:

MAC Soft Ochre paint pot - all over lid as a base
MAC Vanilla, Creme de Miel and Humid eyeshadows
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium and Medium Dark
MAC Summer Rose beauty powder
MAC Petticoat Mineralized Skin Finish as highlight
MAC Refined Golden bronzer to contour

MAC Pleasureseeker lipstick topped with Gold Rebel lipgloss

And I had a lot of fun decorating my photo with photoshop... ha!

Well, I really did this look to see whether I can live without the MAC Photo Realism quad, the quad with greens. And I think I'm convinced I can probably live without it, haha! Well, I hope this has helped some of you who are still thinking about purchasing the quad. And I hope its helped your purses/credit cards too!

Oh, and before I forget, here's the Fresh Approach face chart from MAC's Makeup Art Cosmetics collection that served as my inspiration!

So... what do you think?

LOOK: Smokey Greens a la Fresh Approach face chart

MAC's Makeup Art Cosmetics collection for Fall 2009 is already out in the US. I have just viewed the face charts for this collection, and I just love them! Most of them are quite wearable, and yet, full of colour. These are my top three favourites among the face charts!

1. Maira's Magic - Sweet and girly pinks ♥

2. Fresh Approach - Sultry greens! mmmm... :)

3. Haunting - I love the bright colours! Doubt I'll ever have the courage to wear them outside my house though. :3
I am eye-ing the Photorealism quad. Haunting and Maira's Mood eyeshadows seem to be calling me too, however I admit I probably have enough pink eyeshadows to last me a few years and I probably won't wear the bright blue Haunting much. But still, they look pretty :3

Have you bought anything from this collection? Is there anything from this collection that you feel you MUST have? ♥

Fall '09 Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection Face Charts

I don't know what's up with me and floral print this summer, but I just can't seem to get enough of it! Today wasn't really planned for bag shopping, but that's what I ended up doing. I went to the SM City Mall of Davao to collect some contact lenses for my honey, and on the way out, I passed by a bag sale. This black piece caught my eye, like love at first sight, and I knew I had to have it! It was more than half price off so I was a happy bunny. :)

From the SM Mall, my dad drove to pick my mum up at the Victoria Plaza Mall. I was walking around a bit, and suddenly my eyes caught something else... Another bag! Looks a lot similar to what I bought at SM, only white with pink flowers. Very dainty, and it was a bit cheaper than what I bought the black bag for. I wanted to think about it more before purchasing, but I realised, I'd probably panic when I find out its been bought by someone else! So I took this one too. :3

Yea about myself and floral print this summer... these two bags aren't the only floral pieces I've bought. I also bought these shoes for myself and my sis last week:

Floral print wedge shoes in black and white too! So I guess these bags can be used to match?

I also bought a few floral print dresses about 3 weeks back, which I haven't posted about on the blog. But really, I find floral print things attractive this summer. I'm liking the dainty, vintage-y feel.

What catches your eye this summer? Any favourite trends? Makeup or Fashion-wise?

Bag Shopping + Shoes!

Second time trying out my false lashes! Really simple look with warm bronzes and pale pinks. The falsies were the toughest bits! I need to watch more youtube videos hehe. Any tips you can share for applying false lashes?

I used:

MAC Soft Ochre paint pot
MAC Bronze and Naked Lunch eyeshadows
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
Cheap False Lashes

No overall foundation/face powder
Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Foundation to contour
MAC Pink Swoon blush

MAC Plink! lipstick

Don't be fooled by the dewyness! Its not highlight.. lol. It was quite warm today. Well, relatively since it really IS warm in the Philippines. And I didn't use any all over face powder or foundation today... except the products on the cheeks. Oh, and if you noticed, I finally got my brows reshaped! I think my month wait of re-growing my eyebrows was worth it. =)

Hope you liked this look! ♥
